Fitbit Charge 5

With the launch of the Charge 5, Fitbit once again needed static marketing images created for the standard and accessory bands. This was also the debut of their new Hook and Loop band (I got to play around with the in hand samples and it’s definitely one of my favorites). The hook and loop bands required texture photography and UV mapping similarly to the Luxe. Additionally the “loop” or fuzzy part of the band needed to be as believable as possible. I experimented with photography of this texture, but ultimately I went for a physical displacement using Keyshot’s fuzz tool. My photography didn’t go to waste as I was able to use it as a direction texture for the fuzz. You can view my results below.
